All this talk on Plurk about Anne of Green Gables coming to Netflix got me super excited!  I wanted to create a picture.  Anne was my idol growing up.  I had the privilege of traveling to PEI with my family in 2008 and when I was finally able to visit Green Gables, I cried.

Wheat Kings

Wheat kings and pretty things
Let’s just see what the morning brings
I took a long time and many angles of this picture.  I wanted to do this song justice.  It’s my favourite by an incredible Canadian band called The Tragically Hip.  Last night was a very special night as “The Hip” played their final concert in their hometown.  Gord Downie, the lead singer, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in December and announced to the country that they would be doing a final tour to celebrate life, love, music and their country Canada.

Wheat Kings is a haunting song written about the true story of David Milgaard, a teenage boy who was wrongfully accused and charged with murder.  He was then released from prison 23 years later after finding new DNA evidence.
